An upgrade from a 1 component (1K) to a 2 component (2K) solution will, with a simple calculation, undeniably result in a price increase of 20-30%. Still, your finance department will end up smiling. This is because the pay-back time on a 2K solution is relatively short. And in fact, the smile applies to both corporate and climate accounting.

One of the employees responsible for the sale of equipment for surface treatment at Mouritsen, Steen Rasmussen, who is Senior Sales Manager, explains that 2K solutions can, for example, be applied electrostatically.
Impractically, this means that the paint moves around the subject while you paint - and there is very little waste:
"We sell more and more 2 component solutions to save on VOC emissions. The primary reason is probably still that you get a better quality in the end result, which is right up to C4/C5, which are applications of a high corrosion class. But in addition, there are also more ofour customers who see the environmental benefit due to less consumption of thinner, paint wastage and a longer lifespan of the paint pump and fewer spare parts for the pumps",
A factual solution
The latest project Mouritsen has done with a 2K solution has just been delivered. The project has been underway since 2019 and has been a co-creative process between Mouritsen and the customer.
