Mouritsen A/S strengthens with prominent board members

As of 1 July 2023, two heavyweight profiles from the industry join Mouritsen's board of directors in the form of Lone Hass and Jens Ebbesen. Among other things, they will help Mouritsen A/S execute on strategic themes such as sustainability and product development.

As of 1 July, two prominent profiles will be elected to the board of directors of Mouritsen A/S.

The new chairperson will be Lone Hass, who brings more than 15 years of board experience and management experience from companies such as Novo A/S, COWI and Elopak. At the same time, Jens Ebbesen joins the board as a board member. He is CEO of the electronics group Eltwin Group and has previously worked for companies such as Kamstrup and Logstor.

"With Lone and Jens, we gain some extremely important competences within ESG and product development, which are two of our strategic focus areas. I am convinced that Lone and Jens, together with the rest of the board, can contribute to moving our company to an even better place than where we already are today," says Claus Andersen, CEO of Mouritsen A/S.

From 1 July, Mouritsen's Board of Directors will thus consist of Lone Hass, Jens Ebbesen and the existing members Anders Aakær Jensen and founder Pieter Mouritsen.

ESG as a strategic focus area

During her time at Elopak, Lone Hass was responsible for integrating ESG - a strategic framework for a company's work with environmental, social and governance responsibility - into Elopak's business model.

These are some of the experiences she will bring with her to Mouritsen A/S, which as a solution and product specialist within surface treatment, fluid handling and Offshore Energy has a massive strategic focus on ESG. Responsibility is one of the company's core values, and it is an area that Mouritsen A/S has already been incorporating into its business model for several years.

"We don't see the green transition as a cost. We see it as a business opportunity because acting responsibly is part of our 'why' and our business model. It's simply an important part of who we are," says CEO Claus Andersen.

20-year anniversary

Mouritsen A/S was founded in 2003 under the name Fire-Protect, and this June the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

From being a company with a narrow focus on the hire of personnel and equipment for the offshore sector, Mouritsen A/S is now a well-consolidated company with 35 employees. Mouritsen A/S is headquartered at Lanciavej in Vejle and has customers in the offshore and energy industry as well as traditional industry.

Among its core services are machines and equipment for surface treatment of everything from wind turbine blades to car windscreens.

The coming years will be spent, among other things, on developing and securing the company's long-term position. This will be done by strengthening the ability to develop and deliver solutions to customers who want responsible production based on the core values of Quality, Responsibility and Good Workplace.

Sound values and a good culture

"Mouritsen A/S is a very interesting company driven by sound values and a good culture. I believe that the company has great potential as a contributor to the green transition, and I am very much looking forward to getting to work with the rest of the board," says Lone Hass.

In connection with the annual general meeting on 1 July, outgoing chairman Frank Lorentz and non-executive board member Sharif Tawfik will step down from the board.

"We would like to thank both Frank and Sharif for their many years of dedicated work. They have helped to move Mouritsen A/S as a company and have done a very professional job all the way through," Claus Andersen concludes.
